What do yall think are the biggest needs the Rangers to get back to where they were a few short years ago?

As far as the manager goes, what are Dallas folks hearing? Any names for replacements yet?

Pitching and health.

Nothing yet, but I would imagine the in-house names of Bogar and Maddux are likely at the top of the board

Need a number 3 pitcher. Need a corner outfield.

The pitching staff looks like this:
1 Darvish
2 Holland
3 ......
4 Colby
5 Martinez/Tepesch

I could see the targets being Latos, Price, and Lester. Realistically they might go with someone cheaper and wait for Perez to heal or make a trade.

They are heavily scouting Yasmani Tomas and they could probably go internally with a corner outfielder, as Ryan Rua showed a lot of promise.

Trades are going to be the big thing. The Rangers have veterans returning and rookies that showed they belong on the team. The Rangers have the pieces to make a blockbuster trade.

I do not see 2015 as rebuild year. I truly think that the Rangers can compete, especially with the A's going for broke this year. And if it doesn't work out, they are primed for a big year in 2016.

I would feel much better if Colby AND Martinez/Tepesch weren't in the rotation. Colby needs to just be a long reliever at this point.

The problem with the trade front is Profar's health. That shoulder just can't get healthy and could put Rouggy at 2B as our starter, which kind of takes away one of our top trade pieces

I'll take Colby as a placeholder until Perez is healthy or a trade can be made. The trade also doesn't have to include any blue chippers as they are looking for a mid-rotation guy.

And hell, ChiChi or one of the Nick's might step up big, which would be the best case scenario.

Of Andrus/Profar/Odor/Sardinas, who do they keep and who can they get a good return on?

They probably won't touch those guys. Until Profar is 100% and proves that he can play in the majors, they really will not have to worry about those guys.

As for the trade, I was thinking one of the younger guys could be dealt. They have a lot of very young, very high ceiling players with pretty much only two untouchables in Joey Gallo and Jorge Alfaro.

They have the pieces to do a blockbuster, but I doubt they do. They are only looking for a #3, not a Kershaw.

Have to think Maddux or Bogar gets hired as manager. I would be fine with Maddux.

I think if Bogar wants the manager position he gets it.

It doesn't matter how many opponents were mailing it in late (excluding Oakland, who's trading of Cespedes for Lester may be as bad as Kinsler for Prince), winning 13 of 17 (including seven straight one-run games) shows he has MLB managerial skills.

Now if JD would get fired I would be very happy.

Profar has done absotely nothing to warrant consideration as a starter. Odor is clearly the better player

Not a Rangers fan , but don't expect anything too big after yall geniuses decided to pay Prince Fielder.

Finished this season below the astros but can compete with the A's.
