I hope Miles is not announcing a starting QB to be coy with Auburn.

That would be silly. Gus Malzahn is simply preparing AU for Brandon Harris. Both of our QBs run the same Cam-Miles-attenuated offense and Brandon runs it better. If AU prepares for Brandon, they prepare for Jennings by default.

This give me concern.

Is this Miles version of treating the QB situation with kid gloves?

who cares?

If he starts Jennings, then you have a legitimate gripe. Other than that, who cares?

also, he likely will name a starter this week at some point. Just because he didn't name one at church on Sunday doesn't mean he's being coy.

"We're not going to operate that way," Miles said when asked if Harris was now the starter. We've always done things in a measured fashion. We'll go back on the film and communicate with our team, and not do so through the paper. We're going to do the things we do to reconcile the game. It's not necessarily the splash you guys want. It's just how we do things."

It's been less than 2 days since the game ended. What possible advantage does announcing Harris as the starter before they have even hit the practice field this week provide except satisfying your curiosity?

No advantage or disadvantage. I guess my and the media's inquiry into who will start next Saturday is premature.

I would love for Jennings to start and lead the team down the field for a couple of scores. Get some confidence back. If he struggles early make the switch. Need both guys with confidence for the rest of year. That being said Harris is more dynamic and has a great arm to allow YAC for WR's.

He gains nothing by publicly announcing a starter.

It is sort of funny because if I were an Aubbie fan and my coach was actually dumb enough to "prepare for both" I'd want him hung!! LOL

The only "preparation" needed for when Jennings is in is, "ok, we put everybody in the box now".

Les needs to treat these QBs with kids gloves. We will need Jennings to be ready to play if Harris gets injured.

I think you need another negative in there or something. 'Cause that sentence doesn't really make sense.

The entire offense seemed to have a more energy when Harris came in. Remember that first drive had only one short pass in the flat. Maybe it was Harris or maybe they picked up tempo. Probably it was a combination.

Observing that a player plays poorly is not bashing except to some sad soul who has never played.

Any athlete who has ever played at a high level knows their performance gets evaluated every time they set foot on the field and they EXPECT it to be.

I happen to think Jennings is probably a very good kid. Seems to be. He's just not a very good QB. The latter is not bashing. Sorry you can't comprehend that.
