Jennings had about as bad a game as a QB can have. His 1st quarter gave Jamie Howard's 4th quarter against Auburn a run for its money.

Why the kudos?

After Harris came in and played to near perfection, Jennings continually came over and patted Harris on the back and congratulated him for his play. Jennings remained engaged in the game and seemed genuinely happy for Harris and the other players. He had a horrible game and had to hear the fans booing, yet he didn't sit on the bench and pout.

This was very refreshing to see.

This is exactly why I hate booing. You gave a guy who only wants to succeed and win. He's supports his brothers, his team no matter what. We as fans should as well. I thought it was time to pull him as well, but I'm appreciative of the effort.

Agreed

And this is the problem I have with the booing. I know people say "we're booing the coaches", but when you're 19 years old, and you run out onto the field and the fans boo, you think he's thinking "oh it's ok, clearly they're just booing the coaches!"

It's not that the kid isn't out there working his arse off. He's trying. He's just not the most talented QB we've got.

I hope he keeps his head up and continues to work hard in practice preparing to step in and deliver if/when he's called upon.

As many people may want to compare him to JJ, this is exactly where he is not like him. Glad he is a good team mate.

I was trying not to turn it into a JJ thread, but must admit watching him was the reason this was so refreshing.

I never was one to bash JJ for his play, nor will I do that to Jennings. After all, I'm sure all of our players give it their all and bad play can sometimes not be helped. However, I was always disappointed with how he acted on the sidelines.

Same thing we had in 2010 with Lee and Jefferson. We booed the shite out of Lee in 08, but he came in vs tennessee and florida and won those games for us. Also iced the bama game as well.

AJ is ten times the teammate that JJ was. I hope he sticks around. He's good for the team.

Yeah, I noticed it. Was commendable. As a competitor (sp) it's often tough to do.

I can recall those situations. If I was ever playing bad I'd actually prefer to come out and not hurt my team. Often times request it. The competitor wants to succeed, but failure and the "want" to not hurt my team always drives me to work harder and improve.

Booing, meh...whatever. People are going to do what people want to do. As far as Jennings attitude...IMO he actually looked relieved. He knew he didn't have "it" Saturday night, and once out of the game he was happy to assist on the sidelines and offer support. He seemed to be a true team player in that regard, and kudos do apply.

Hearing the Harris interview after the game i was very impressed with how he handled it. He is not your typical freshman, and seems to be a true team player that the ENTIRE team responds to. When he was in, it elevated the team as a whole. If my dumbass can see that from my living room on the screen, I sure hope a 6 million dollar head coach can from the side lines.

I'm pretty certain that Jennings is a good kid. And, I'm sure some fans were literally booing him.

It's not Jennings' fault that Miles put him in that position. Miles put him in a game and then called the game like he'd been forced to start me at QB.

I fricking hate this rantard fan base. The same frickers who were bitching to open the offense up were the ones booing the interception when the O opened up.

Jennings is a great kid according to every report dating back to high school. His sideline demeanor is great and he seems very supportive of Harris.

Very glad he's on our team and I hope he sticks it as the backup. If he does, no doubt he will still see playing time as very rarely do QBs make it 3 years without a single injury.

No. They were booing the fact that the idiot coach was starting a guy even HE didn't trust with the ball over a guy who has twice the talent.

The INT was so f'n bad that it just highlighted this reality.

While I agree with your kudo'ing ( ), where did that happen? Only time the camera was on them was when BH was talking to Krags and AJ was just listening in.

Good for AJ being a great teammate though

Not true.

He was in Harris' ear on the sideline during timeouts and game delays every time. Was also jumping up with him and congratulating him after big plays in a very, very supportive manner. They seem to be close friends out there.

Nobody feels worse about Anthony Jennings' play on Saturday than Anthony Jennings.

The fact that our semi-disabled, mentally, fan base never makes that cognitive connection is their own fault, not the kid.

This isn't a situation like Jordan Jefferson, who didn't realize he was playing badly while he was doing it. Even then, I was against booing him - it is not like he was doing it on purpose.

Jefferson seen cheering a Lee TD at UF. later in the video looks like he was also going up to him and congratulate him after the game winning TD.

I didn't always like the vibe I got from Jordan at times (see the post sack pouty-face), but geez ppl, he wasn't the anti-Christ some of y'all make him out to be.

anyway, go Jennings and
