It's worth doing, but unless you grew up and Dallas and it is a tradition for you, I wouldn't have interest in doing it very often.

I've been going since I was little. Some interesting exhibits, they can have some good concerts, car show is always good, and of course the smorgasbord of fried foods.

Not really. South of fair park is bad but we go to bars at the north gate all the time. And there are high dollar condos at the north gate.
The Fair itself is ok. Most people I know love it mainly for the shitty fried anything and getting drunk and/or high and watching all the inbreds. You have to be in a mood for cheesiness to enjoy.
