My contention is that we can beat Zona with Martinez and save the guns for the Dodgers. Martinez has shown good things. Save our arms.

Nah you don't stop a start and make Lynn wait 10 days to pitch. Disaster written all over it.
Keep him on regular rest and his routine, pitchers like routines.

I agree with you that I don't see us going that far, the point me and Ultimate are making is that even with Lynn pitching tonight he would be ready to pitch game 2 so you aren't "saving" anything
Better to clinch tonight, then be able to skip Waino tomorrow allowing him to pitch game 1

Oh well, gives some extra drama to today and as a Rams fan I have no interest in the NFL at this point.
Turning an other wise uneventful sports afternoon into something more.
