Its a highly competitive league, and obviously the illegal roster is frowned upon.
However, I'm 0-3 and started Eli (45 points ) this week, (Peyton on bye), so I could stash an extra rb/wr that I might desperately need to make a playoff run rather than a potentially meaningless defense.
The guys I have to choose from to drop are Knowshon, Ivory, Khiry, MJD. 12-team PPR.

Would you?:
A. Roll with no defense (illegal roster) and probably still get the week 4 W
B. Drop one of Knowshon, Ivory, Khiry, MJD for a defense.

***I took over as commissioner of the league this Summer, so I feel at fault for not implementing the illegal roster rule, but the league has been running for 5 years now without it.

What is your defense, and what defenses are available?

Knowshon is going to miss what? 8 more weeks maybe? Probably him. Ivory is probably a RB2 the rest of the way is he stays healthy. Rex this week said he would be getting more carries than CJ going forward. Khiry is valuable now, and is a meh option after Ingram comes back. MJD is a keep, should be healthy soon and is the no doubt starter in Oakland.

To recap
1) Ivory
2) MJD
3) Khiry
4) Moreno

Just my humble opinion.

My defense is nobody. I could pick up any defense, but probably won't need one since I'm up 76-2 (Eli, Cruz, Paul).

I'm basically asking, is it ethical to not start a defense and stash an extra RB since there is no rule against it? Even though there is a somewhat unwritten rule...

There are many dick headed moves in Fantasy football

Not playing a defense or kicker isn't one of them

If you want to take a gamble and not cash in on potential points, thats on you. If anyone gets their panties in a wad, they shouldn't be playing. Especially not in a highly competitive league.. Be opposite of Les Miles... do what you need to do to win.

dont play a defense if you dont want to. we've had people who were up about 5 or less going into monday night sit their defenses to ensure the win. it's a smart move.

How could you drop any of those backs? They're all number 1's
