Manchester United's hopes of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club from Real Madrid rest on them putting together a package worth 140 million pounds ($228 million), according to widespread reports in the British media.

Ronaldo, 29, had been targeted by United in 2013 before the forward eventually signed a new contract at the Bernabeu last September, but speculation over a possible return to Old Trafford has been reignited following reports that Europe's top clubs have been informed about the likely cost of a potential deal.

Shiiiit. That's way too much for a player who will probably decline quite a bit in the next few years. He's almost 30, and one of his greatest assets is athletic ability. He will still be a great player, but of you're paying that much money, he better be the best.

And he's got that bad knee problem that's not going away. Will limit his time going forward.

it was never a valid rumor anyways. why would he take a step backward to a sinking ship club from a side that just won the Champions League title?
