This is ridiculous. Thank God this incident was caught on camera so that justice can be properly served. If this incident wasn't caught on tape the victim would be serving time.

There's two threads already on this. One on the poli board and one on the OT.

Sorry. I've taken a little time off the poli board on purpose and haven't been keeping up.
Should have known my cursory search wasn't enough.

I had a case one time where two Biloxi cops came and arrested this guy for sleeping in his car in an apartment complex. He had driven down from Tennessee to see his new born grandson. He got in early about 5 am and didn't want to wake the newborn etc, so he decided to just wait until sunlight or 7am. He was a hemophiliac and lucky to have survived the blood transfusions in the late 80's. He is a well dressed white professional in a new 380zx.
The Cops get a complaint and instead of simply asking what is going on asking for ID etc, they draw their weapons and one of them says get out of the car while the other says keep your hands on the dash where I can see them. After almost shooting him, he explains please dont rough me up I am a bleeder and I can not open the door to get out of the car if I keep my hands on the dash. Of course, the idiots drag him out of the car roughed him up, and he had to go to the hospital and get factor 8 for a week for a cost of about 100k and almost died. His offense, nada. They were all white btw.
They realized they fricked up so they tried to charge him with failure to obey officers commands, (Very common bullshite to CYA). We filed a claims notice. Of course the first thing the city attorney wanted to do is get me to drop claim and they would dismiss charges. (Happens 10,000 times a day.) We refused because they almost killed him we missed all this time with only grandson etc. He is pissed.
Over objection of the DA, I recreated the incident in the Court room where for the first time the cops realized that he could not get out of the car with both his hands on his dash board. It was a blast.
So officer, there was really no way humanly possible he could follow the commands of both you and officer X, could he? No sir, I guess not.
And he told you he was a bleeder? yes sir.
And he was a guest of a resident, his son, and had every legal right to be there didn't he? We didn't know at the time but yes sir we know now.
And you cuffed him and arrested him didnt you? Yes sir.
And he almost died. I don't know sir but we took him to hospital right after booking and he was in bad shape.
This was all a tragic mistake wasn't it? OBJECTION....can be heard saying yes sir.
And you would do things differently, if you knew what you know now. (Objection) yes sir.
Judge shakes his head in disbelief.......
This happens all the time people, every day. Nothing to see here move along.....
