Looking to get my Dad a new driver for christmas. He got a set of irons last year(Rocketballz) and fell in love with them. What would yall recommend for a 55 year old man? I haven't bought any clubs in awhile and just trying to price some drivers and get it all lined up for christmas.

Thanks in Advance!

no reason to buy the latest and greatest. technology from a year or two ago is still current and you will save $100's.

Taylormade, Adams, Callaway, Titleist are your big name brands in the Driver category

This guy doesnt have a clue

the newest driver is always best.

but seriously driver is very much personal preference. Get him a GC for a driver and let him go pick his own

Gift him a professional fitting and pay for the driver that they recommend.

This is the best way. I'm 54 and love my Titleist 913 but it's best to let him try them for himself and find what he likes best.

My 913 has a vowel, the D.

I would let him hit a few to see which worked for him. I went in "knowing" I was going to buy a set of rocketballz irons, but decided to try 5 or 6 sets and I hated the rocketballz.

I know a gift certificate is pretty boring, but golf clubs are pretty personal.

Depends on the type of golfer he is. A few times a year, once a week, Skill Level, flexibility, and so forth.

Some guys are a "young 55" with the way they move and some are an "older 55" with the way they move.

If he is merely a casual golfer with a medium sing speed then I would look at the RBZ drivers since he likes his irons with a "mature" shaft. You can find them for around $100.

I don't know anything about his game, but I would assume most 55-year olds are looking for max distance off the tee.

Any TMAG driver should suffice in the regard (RBZ bonded driver, RBZ stage 2, SLDR, SLDR S).

Callaway offerings would work to for him I would think (X-Hot, Razr Fit, Big Bertha Alpha).
