This is the same prosecutor that gave Ray Rice PTI....but a mother with no arrest record carrying a registered firearm could have faced 5 yrs in jail
BUT before the Ray Rice publicity nightmare she was intelligible.

This woman should thank Ray Rice for beating his fiancé.... That's the only reason she got out of jail time.

It's like even the word "gun" offends him.

I don't think it was just the ray rice situation that caused a change of heart by the DA.

"pre-trial" - what that means is she will be allowed to legally bribe her way out of charges - which certainly beats the alternative.
Violations of law like this should be punished as regulatory offenses - not criminal. A $500 fine and an ordinance violation (non-criminal) would be plenty harsh enough treatment.

That's about the sanest most logical thing you've typed on this board

Completely disagree.... Everything was scheduled to move forward for this woman. They said she wasn't eligible for the pre-trial intervention.
The Ray Rice situation takes place and the same DA lets Rice off with pre-trial intervention. The video blows up and people find out this is the same DA that is handling the woman's case. The DA begins to get flack from the national media and all of a sudden, this woman is now eligible for the pre-trial diversion program?
Might big coincidence

Oh so having 4 of these billboards put up in his district and the pressure he felt from the gun community had nothing to do with it?

Obviously not....
Here is what happened just weeks ago
quote:
A New Jersey judge denied a motion to dismiss charges Tuesday against a Philadelphia mother who mistakenly entered New Jersey, where she was stopped for a traffic violation and found in possession of a handgun loaded with hollow-point bullets.
Shaneen Allen, 27, who is legally permitted to carry a concealed firearm in Pennsylvania, was pulled over in New Jersey's Atlantic County after making an unsafe lane change in the early morning hours of Oct. 1. She told the officer she had a .380 Bersa Thunder handgun during the traffic stop.
Superior Court Judge Michael Donio also denied a motion to overturn a decision not to allow Allen to participate in a pretrial intervention program to avoid jail time.
Allen rejected a prosecutor's offer to serve 3 1/2 years in prison, her attorney, Evan Nappen, told FoxNews.com.
"That's exactly what should be the solution here," Nappen said, referring to the intervention program. "So we're looking forward to that jury trial."
A trial date has been set for Oct. 6, said Nappen, who feels his client may find more leniency from jurors.
The only thing that has changed in the past month in regards to this situation is the Ray Rice video, which IS directly tied to the DA prosecuting this case.

ok I already know how the sequence of events went. These billboards were also put up within the last two weeks. I'm not saying that Ray Rice knocking out his Fiancé had nothing to with it.
I have a feeling that she wouldn't of ended up in jail even if Ray Rice didn't do what he did. Evan Nappen was the best lawyer she could get, dude wrote the book on New Jersey gun laws.
