We're opting not to use it.

Jennings is too inconsistent running it. See the 4th down goal line play as an example.

The option plays are about as good as the screen plays.

Option play was called on fourth and goal. Jennings had an easy touchdown if he pitches...

Another reason why I don't see why we don't try Harris. Jennings is pretty much zero threat to run effectively. His one good running game was against what is a shitty FCS team in FCS standards.

Even when Harris has fricked up and went the wrong way, he made things happen. IMO, He needs this game to WR through his mistakes. That means the entire second half since he won't start. Better yet, the second and third quarters.

Ugh, let's Moffitize him before he's subjected to multiple bodyslams, tramplings and stompings by frickers twice his size.
I just have bad vibes about the idea. I'd hate to lose hope for 2 seasons in a panic to salvage a shitastic one.

I seem to be using this phrase a lot lately, but in the interest of fairness, SHSU is a good FCS program. Don't know about right now, but I think they were #13 FCS when they played us.

Yep. This was 1st Q with MSU leading 7 - 0.

I've replayed this several times. Actually, IMO, Jennings would also have been able to keep it and run it in if he continued running outside.

Both Hilliard (blocking back) and Fournette (pitch back) were running wide to the right just like Jennings. LSU's outside blocker to the right was engaged at the line with MSU's outside left DE. Only one MSU player remained to the right (the MSU DB about 3 yards deep in the end zone).

Blocking advantage - clearly LSU from about the 3 yard line. One or both of our backs could have blocked or shielded the lone MSU DB in the end zone while Jennings trotted in for a TD. IMO.

As stated above, he could also have pitched to Fournette for the TD.

Instead, Jennings chose to cut it inside between the contained block on the right side and the mass of bodies in the middle of the field. The MSU LB immediately blasted up to stop him in the small available hole at the 1 to 2 yard line.

"Just the facts, ma'am".
