With all the tough games remaining on the schedule this may end up being the best thing that could happen to this football team. Moo State is a very, very good team but they are 1 injury away (similar to Georgia last season) from a mid-level bowl team. Let's enjoy the ride and see how this thing plays out. Auburn game will be the start of the comeback on the way to the playoff IMHO. We'll need both Harris and Jennings to get us there and a lot more aggressiveness on defense. I'm not giving up on the Tigers and they sure aren't giving up on themselves. The 4th qtr against Miss. State was spectacular! We need to see more of this early in football games. Time to step it up Tigers. Make it happen!

I like your optimism. Let's see how the Tigers respond.

There's never a good season to lose to them, though if we could somehow beat Bama (which we can't), I would glady trade a loss to MSU for a victory over Bama.

If I had to choose, I'd rather lose to MSU than any other West team. Auburn is good, but beatable with the right adjustments. Win that one and we're right back on track. This season's not over yet.

Some merit to that. They returned 18 of 22 starters; 13 senior starters and a top 10 in the country QB. Before the season I heard Gordy Rush predict they would win 9 or 10 games and give the Tigers all they wanted(and then some).
Half of the talking heads predicted the upset based on the stated facts and LSU's youth and inexperience rearing it's head all over the place. No shame in losing to that team. That being said, The Tigers still have more talent and really laid an egg, execution and scheme-wise IMO. Look for big improvement in both those areas this week and a renewed focus that will carry over into the Auburn game.

I'm not giving up on them team, or the year, but there needs to be major changes. And by major, I mean several current starters need to be backups. By major I mean philosophy on offense.

I don't think the OL's problem is lack of talent. It's scheme and adaptability to that scheme. If the TEs, FBs, and OL all look like shite blocking, that's on coaching. Minus Turner, we brought back every starting blocker and that includes TEs and FBs. You can't really tell the blockers to completely do it a different way mid season, so you have to hide the blocking problems. We do that by going spread.

On defense outside of not even trying to play Gilmore, Bain, Herron, we need to swap out several guys.

I believe LSU has the tools necessary to use this game as an eye opener to turn this team around. Staff will have to make big changes. Coaches will have to adapt. You want players to adapt, but you will have to yourself.

Not that I think we have as high of a ceiling as Auburn did last year, but they came here and got stomped and responded well. South Carolina got embarrassed by A&M and turned around and beat their biggest rival. LSU lost a heart breaker in the Swamp in 2012 and turned around and beat #3 South Carolina the next week.

The players are saying they've got plenty of fight left in them. Its just a matter of whether or not Les can swallow his pride and take his chances with young quarterbacks getting deeper into the playbook. I think he will, because he has to know that more losses are guaranteed with this schedule if he doesn't.
