Mighty Mite football team crashes into banner.

Team vs Banner

The Wallkill Mighty Mites -- hailing from Wallkill, New York -- just aren't that mighty. Disaster struck when the team raced, unsuccessfully, into the stubborn banner as both moms and cheerleaders looked on.

It wasn't just the first three players who were clotheslined, though. In total, 12 (!!) players crashed into the banner, and at that point, the rest of the stragglers decided it would be just as much fun to dogpile onto their teammates. The average weight of the offensive line is approximately 46 pounds, so no one was at serious risk of injury.

Makes my blood boil that girls that young are already trying to be made cheerleaders by their moms. Classic example of parents living through their kids.

what is the difference between the girls being cheerleaders and the boys playing football at that age?

If the moms would have held the banner tight it would have broken. They gave with the contact, therefore the banner didn't break.

Moms' fault.

That video wasn't really what I expected. Totally the moms' fault.

If you look at the banner, it's actually got a slit in the middle at the top and bottom, I presumed to make it easier to rip, but it doesn't.

It is the mom's fault, had they held it top and bottom it would either tear, or catch all the kids in one glorious pile.

It appears to be one of those plastic/vinyl ones that has velcro in the middle. But, if you are a dumbass mom and have it facing the wrong way then the velcro will not tear.

I clicked on the link and realized it wasn't from deadspin and so I copied the videos from deadspin over without watching the video in the OP. Thought deadspin videos where pretty funny and just assumed the video in OP was the unedited version. my bad.

The moms reactions as the first 3 get clotheslined, and then subsequently the rest of the team is priceless.

Basically if those 3 get clotheslined all the other kids have to also.
