Anyone have experience with Dr. Bolter, neuromedical center, for ADHD?

I'm 30 but been having signs of ADHD since I was kid but I never believed in it as an actual disorder.
Well my work has asked me to go get tested bc my position requires tons of focus, and the nature of my job pulls me in all directions (including trips to branches in other cities) and I'm unorganized, etc, and lately my focus (lack of) has been effecting my work a bit.
My wife agrees, she blames it on my being in front of a PC screen since birth and playing video games my whole life (some recent article came out linking video game playing directly to ADHD)
So I bit the bullet and went to my primary care, whom referred me to Dr. Bolton's office in Baton Rouge. They just called yesterday and scheduled my appointment for October 30 (!) bc they are booked. She said she would send me a packet in the mail and I would go through and fill it out and bring it to the appointment.
What am I to expect when I get there in a month? Should I ask for other referrals because it's over a month away (my PC said if it took too long they do have other references). Or should I just wait it out bc he's really good and that's why he's booked? That or a ton of people are trying to get scripts, which I am not but will probably end up with one.
Does anyone have direct experience with Dr. Bolton?

There are tests. One I remember is on a computer a bunch of letters or numbers pop up and you have to hit a certain key for a certain character
If you don't want to wait, ask for a different recommendation. I doubt your dr will refer you to a quack

Drugs aren't the answer, brah. You just have to buckle down.

I am sure he can help. That's a pretty good place.

Same here. The testing took a few hours if I remember correctly.
I didn't go to Bolter so I can't help you there.
Good luck man. Try to lower your defenses to the prospect of a positive diagnosis and medicating it. If you have ADHD and haven't been treating yourself properly, you will probably be very happy with the end result of this path you're taking.

Everyone is telling me I'm probably going to feel like a new man after this, I just need to warm up to the fact that I might have to be on stimulants now and I just have this long belief idea that add/ADHD is/was a behavorial problem that could be corrected.
But I'm starting to realize this probably happened in my childhood developmental stage and it would be nearly impossible to reverse.
Thanks for the responses guys

He's not an M.D. And, of course you'll be diagnosed with it. Those tests will tell almost anyone they have ptsd. The meds improve people's focus even if they don't have it.

Between my experience with myself and my 8 year old, I assure you that behavioral therapy alone is not going to work.

I didn't like it either but, if you do end up on them, I think you'll find that they don't affect you like you think they will.

They're right.

so your co workers thinks you have adhd? maybe you need to develop better work skills just like you developed study skills to make it through school.
stimulants might help, but they also can bring out dormant schizophrenia traits if that runs in your family. consider that risk.
otherwise, the other poster is right, its a b.s. first world problem.

Not just co-workers but high ups including the owner, without going into too much detail my work load far exceeds what a single person can do (there should be a department or at least 2 others at my position considering the size of company) and I'm working on major tasks a lot and get called off to do mundane stuff that's mindless but has to be some, then that starts the focus breaking cycle bc I'll get pulled off while getting pulled off, etc. By the time I get back to my desk I'm just not in the mindset or organized properly to continue the task, and I try but my mind wonders off by then and I lose focus almost completely.

he can prescribe meds if he's not an MD?
Anyway, OP should go see Dr Bick in Nola. No battery of tests.

This is classic. Your employer has you doing several jobs and they want you to go get checked out for ADHD; ostensibly to get you on some pharmaceutical so that you can adequately perform the duties of more than one person. You cannot satirize this shite.

Common adhd medications are not legal speed. If you want to bash adhd as a diagnosis please start that thread. Otherwise don't make stuff up, pls.

If you're doing that much, what would you expect to happen to your focus?
Stimulants are like the ped's of the business world. Your boss wants you juicing.
And, yes, unfortunately in La. and NM, psychologists can prescribe after a brief mail order equivalent course that nobody fails.
