the best sports game over the last 5 years? Where the hell have you been living? Both FIFA and MLB The Show take center stage over NBA 2K. For the record I am not an EA fan boy and I wish that 2K was still making football games. I also plan on purchasing WWE 2K15. I simply stated that I wasn't a fan of the canned animations of 2K14 when there is technology out that would eliminate this and make the game infinitely better.
The fact that you are so butt hurt over my one comment makes me chuckle though. Clearly you are the fan boy here. But good trolling anyways..
ETA: I find it hard to fathom that anyone enjoyed playing low post defense with a Dwight Howard type only to have their opponent have someone like James Harden at the free throw line getting sucked into a dunk animation where your center takes about 9 steps backwards so that Harden can get the dunk and the foul.

As soon as I saw it had Sting I knew i was getting it. Sting was my first favorite wrestler, so hell yes I am getting it.

They have supposedly rebuilt the game from the ground up and its going to have a completely different style of play, I'm intrigued

2K14 was the first basketball game I have ever played or purchased since probably NBA Live 08 or so, and I thought it sucked, as did my friend in the same scenario, we played probably 80 games of MyPlayer's The Park and called it quits. Online was beyond awful, and the career mode had me bored by the All Star Game season 1.

I guess you didn't play last year because you didn't have that problem. Idk if you still playing 360 or ps3 but ps4 made it to where you didn't have those animations where curry is dunking over Howard.
I have played and owned both FIFA and the show. FIFA is fun. I'll admit that but I guess 2k won so many awards for no reason

FIFA has won Sports Game of the Year almost every year for 10 years. It doubles the amount of awards any other sports game has earned and it's not close.
IGN's Sports Game of the Year last year however was MLB 13 The Show.

And the show gets so boring after a while. It presents nothing outside of playing your games. Once you make it to the show it just gets boring. So repetitive

Well what did you expect? That's the whole point. You get to the show and play the games. You try to get your player in the hall of fame. It gives you options. You can make the all star team, participate in the home run derby, demand a trade, or you can shoot for all time record, etc.
In the end all you do for all of these sports games is "play your games". The show does have other cool modes though like challenge of the week and diamond dynasty.
