I've posted a couple of times with questions regarding buying/selling a home simultaneously.

Today's question of the day is, does anyone have any idea of a ballpark figure on how much a building permit would cost? I have no idea if they'll say $20 or $2000.

It would be a residential permit regarding the garage. The previous owner(actually probably 2 owners ago) converted the garage into an extra room but there's no permit for it, so my lender is stating we have to get this permit so we can proceed with the loan.

It's in Lake County Florida and I linked where you can apply for a permit, but I'm having trouble finding pricing, if they even have it.

Obviously I can call in the morning, but hoping to finalize this tonigt if possible.

Thanks

Found a fee calculator, looking it over now.

I'm just not sure if I'm in the right place here.

I would gladly pay the higher figure. We are close to getting our permit for our new house in Washington state...$8,000. That includes building, stormwater, driveway, etc. Sticker shock but probably a sign of things to come.
