Speaker going out on S3. Get fixed or new phone?

Told on about half of my calls that I sound like I am in a well. I am guessing new phone since these things are more and more disposable. Have had the phone about 18 months.
Thinking Note 4, but willing to take suggestions.

Just get a new phone. I'd probably wait for the new Google Nexus whatever. I wish Sony would sell their phones here.
The Note 4 may be good, but I'd stay away from the S5.

I have it, and it freezes/crashes. Just froze before I checked this post, actually.
