How long does it take for DL to develop?

Yeah, I'm beating a dead horse here, I know.

At what point do we either have to question the coaching staff or the players themselves? Why haven't guys like Herron, Gilmore, Bain, Johnson, Maclin, and Patterson developed skills yet? Why have those guys been passed up by true freshmen? Why are Lewis Neal and Godchaux possibly our best DTs?

I haven't been following recruiting over the past few years but it looks like those 3 RSFR DTs were very hyped up, yet haven't contributed it all. It would be easy to point to attrition but "Freak" and "Ego" weren't world beaters last year either.

And no I'm not bashing these guys, but damn, Russell Shepard was making more of an impact

DT is one of the hardest positions to project from HS to college

it appears some of our highly rated 2013 guys are not living up to their billing

Can it be fixed though? Is it something like fixing broken QB mechanics or is it much deeper than that?
