For starters, I'm a fan of Jennings and even I would like to see Harris start. That being said, I believe that starting Harris will basically be throwing in the towel for this season in preparation for next season. Harris is going to have difficulty running the offense, often being confused. He will make bad reads and bad throws. He will turn the ball over and will likely look like hot garbage against both Florida and Alabama. And I still think he ought to play.

If this scenario plays out, will people still roast Miles for Harris' poor performance? Is it most people's expectation that if Miles decides to start Harris the rest of the way, he should also have him looking like a polished QB?

i said it once and i'll say it again. qb play is the least concerning issue.

playcalling, OL, and mostly DL and LB

At least he'll get the experience this year as a true freshman

There is NO doubt who looks to be the future at LSU

For the sake of argument, let's say no. Spread offense.

because jennings skipping passes to receivers, taking bad sacks, and keeping the ball so he could run 11 times for 29 yds (more than hilliard and mcgee combined, and more than fournette total)...

Is such a great option?

WTF is wrong with you pumpers?

The response would be denial. The "let's go all in with Harris" crowd would refuse to accept the fact that "hey, maybe the coaches had an idea all along that this kid wasn't quite ready for the big time just yet" and we, as Ranters who don't go to practice, really do NOT know better.

How? It would be different if we were pulling Mett for Harris. Jennings is servicable. Are you saying that Harris can't do the exact same stuff that Jennings is doing right now?

The people who want Harris to play think he's better. It's not as if Jennings is this savy vet.

maybe the playcalling isn't doing any favors for Jennings, but do we think he would be that much more successful with a more open passing game?

I, for one, am not sure of that. Jennings looks and plays hesitant, he skips balls that should be routine completions. He may know the plays, but his penchant for actually executing those plays are not of a high percentage.

Harris may struggle pretty bad against bama and florida, but he's a passing threat nonetheless and may loosen up that front 7. Jennings, on the other hand, is not the same kind of threat besides the occasional bomb.

I think you have got to go with Harris. Everyone talked before the season that he has the better up-side than Jennings who did have, albeit little, game experience. Harris appears to have better pocket awareness and athletic ability than Jennings, so lets give him a chance to get the experience he needs to become our QB of the future! With that being said, we are going to have to scrap the I-formation no matter who it is!

Maybe it's just because of what happened with JJ, but I'm skeptical of throwing a true freshman into the fray.

I say use a 2 QB system for the rest of the year. Then let the competition play out in the offseason, which I'm sure Harris would win.
