Since the start? 99 yard drive wasn't enough? I'm glad that harris is now our future.

Here's the thing, I am all for Harris getting a shot, but Harris's performance last night reminded me a lot of Jennings vs. Arkansas last year. Both players came in with a nothing to lose mentality and looked All Pro. We all know how Jennings has looked since that game. I think Harris has earned some snaps, but I'm not convinced that Harris is that much better than Jennings yet.

With that said, lets find out.

yes he is still young. But, after 5 starts and two years of spring and summer practices, should look better. short passes awful. This does not mean that I think Harris is ready to be the guy, but he might be with some reps.

harris is gonna have his f ups too. But I'd much rather see harris go through growing pains with a high ceiling than jennings just wetting the bed over and over again a la JJ

O though he should have been the starter in the first game. Didn't think starting a true freshman away from home against a top 20 team was a recie fro success.

I did think, BH would have gotten more/better reps in the 2nd and 3rd game. And, TBH, I still don't know what to make of his performance last night. He looked GREAT, but I think State thought the game was wrapped u and quit playing in the 4th qtr, allowing Harris to d what he did.

That said, he did provide a spark and almost won a game in which we got beat infinitely worse than the score indicated.

Harris showed he has much more upside than AJ. I think he will make mistakes, but I also think the offense will move better with him. This season is a wash anyway, just start BH now, get him experience and build for what could potentially be a playoff caliber team next year.

Only reason I can think of that Harris isn't the starter is maybe he doesn't know the playbook

I think Jennings struggles at first could have been attributed to the conservative playcalling.
The thing with Harris though is you can see the ability to make every throw. What stood out about Jennings was his poise, arm, and athleticism. I think Harris is legit.

that may be true, but look at it this way.

Jennings knows 100% of the playbook and can only execute 25% of it.

Harris knows maybe 75% and may be able to execute at a much better clip than Jennings.

give me the guy who executes.

What bothers me is that the coaches knew from the spring that Harris was the guy with the ability to be special. We had opportunities to get him more ready against SHS and ULM, but they chose to believe that they could win with a running game and defense. Problem is, that neither one of those is good enough to carry us against good teams.

Harris is the future. When rushed last night Jennings started to tuck under. Its hard to make completions when you stare at the turf.

This. What was so frustrating about last night is that when your game-managers aren't managing and you have players on the bench with more of a ceiling why the hell wouldn't you play those players? This also applies to the Welter and Martin situation. Doesn't make sense.
