Mills at Safety and big plays

I watched the game today (was at the game till the end) and in the 3rd quarter Mills was out of position on Prescotts big run and let his man go to play the run on the big pass play ( it looked like his 'guy' caught the pass). That's 14 points and 150 yards based on what seem to be miscues. The question is, can he clean up those issues? Maybe the scheme put him in bad spots or maybe Chavis has/had too much confidence in him, either way those were killers.

MSU out schemed us, many times they forced the backer into coverage with the threat of an over top route to keep the safety honest, all to create lanes for Prescott. We never adjusted.

Martin was more out of position than other player not named Welter all game and it showed. This team is just poorly coached. It has little to do with youth, but that will be the excuse used.

As far as Martin and Welter, that may be true. But when Mills is out of position, the result is big plays and TD's. he has the talent so to your point, we need to get his mind right. Film time.

Might as well put Rickey Jefferson and Jamal Adams in.
And Beckwith...
And Beckwith...

We need DTs in the worst way, MSU had a great game plan and exposed our lack of talent in the front 7.

Multiple big plays including TDs came off of Welter and Martin mistakes. It's not as clean cut as you'd like to think.
Again, the defense looks lost and that all goes back to coaching. Fact is we have a mediocre DB coach, and something has happened to Haley's coaching ability the last 3 years.

By far it was Martin with the worst game. Welter is pretty damn bad but Martin was just terrible. Especially on that huge play where Prescott escaped and scrambled to the left and launched one. But I'm not here to say how bad this and that one is.
If I had to choose.. I'd make a few lineup change.
1) - Harris over AJ
2) - Beckwith over Welter
3) - This one is pushing it IMO. I wouldn't bench Martin because he has made some plays over his time here, but I would find a way to get Adams more PT. Kid has a lot of potential all he needs it PT.
