Mad Men theories for the final half season?

I've got the itch BAD, and the show doesn't come back until the Spring. I've been rewatching the show slowly over the past few weeks, and it's even better the second time through.
What do y'all think is going to happen with this show? Will Don finish on top? Obviously he has regained power withing SC&P, but I would say he is exactly where he never wanted to be. He is under contract and working for McCann.
I don't think I expect some epic finale. But I'm not sure what I want.

I have the sneaky suspicion he finds a way to frick McCann and come out smelling like roses. He's been slumming for a solid season or better now.

The true GOAT heavyweight champion of TV deserves a good send off. I think don wrecks shop at McCann and abruptly leaves advertising brings Sally with him and moves to Cali and is finally content.

Yes. Weiner has to be tired of this. I'd love to see Peggy be put back in place a bit too. I love her, but she has gotten way too arrogant.

See I think Don's love affair with California is over now. I don't have a clue where he ends up.
On different note, I hate this waiting period

It's bullshite that AMC has given Mad Men the Breaking Bad treatment. Totally different type of show.

I think by the end of the first half she came around. Watching her, Don, and Pete should be solid to finish the series.

True. I just can't see him in New York though maybe near where he grew up as Dick. Regardless he goes with the only person who he truly cares about and understands him-Sally.

***These are my theories, but if I'm right, they could be spoilers***
So I'm really starting to worry Don might have lung cancer. Rewatching the series, there just seem to be so many references to it.
First episode, waiter tells Don he heard cigs kill you. He coughs a lot, especially in season 5. Betty's cancer scare. I think in Season 4, he has the meeting with American Cancer society, and when he returns, Roger asks him if he got cancer. Also, Weiner has made it known that Jon Hamm is the only person he told the ending in advance. I believe he even said before season 5, and that happens to be the season he began coughing.
I don't know. It could still end well with him having cancer, but I want Don to live.

Don goes back to selling cars, marries peggy.
Roger has a heart attack while in bed with Joan, does him in. He leaves everything to her and her son.
Pete is arrested for manslaughter, does 7 years.

No. No. No. I would be pissed. They have a father-daughter relationship. Nothing has ever pointed to that.

In the spirit of the always excellent next week on Mad Men previews I'll keep mine vague.
1. I think Don ends up finding true happiness.
-Not sure how (if I had to guess he "kills" the Don Draper identity), but the open of S6 where he is reading and recites the Inferno clues me in. His journey has symbolically correlated with Dante's in the Divine Comedy. S6 = Inferno. S7A = Purgatorio. S7B = Paradiso? Who knows.
2. I think something bad happens to Pete, possibly even death.
-This one is mostly a total guess, but there have been a couple clues. Mainly Chekhov's gun appearing a few times. It's also kind of suspicious that Vinny has been missing from all these recent interviews where the cast is getting asked if they liked how their story ended, but that's the conspiracy theorist in me. I do believe he's the most likely to have a very dark send off.
3. Peggy will have to face her demons about her abandoned child.
-Not sure if she will find him or not, but the Julio storyline last year makes me think her sins in S1 will come full circle this year.
4. Joan and Don will never work things out.
-I think Weiner wants to show that some relationships truly aren't repairable. This one saddens me because I loved their relationship prior to the Jaguar mess. I hope I'm wrong here.
5. Sal does not return.
-Again, I think Weiner wants to stay true to the story and not the fans wishes. His story did have an excellent exit, but again I hope I'm wrong.
I have no idea what they are gonna do with Betty. Weiner has had a weird obsession with her character, including using her way too much at times, so part of me wants to say he has a plan for her to fit back in as a major piece with the whole cast and he's had that in his head for years. The skeptic side says he was just wasting screen time on her character, and nothing important will happen to her this season (like usual).
Also, don't have much of a theory with Roger. I do think his ending will be satisfying also though.
It's gonna be a wild ride to the finish and I'm gonna during the whole finale.

Upon rewatch, I think Betty has been good to keep around. It keeps us knowing Don's life outside of the office. She is good for her disputes with Sally. The stuff at Bobby's camp is great. I love that I still fear Don when other employees walk into his office. Yet, I know how weak he is as well.

I can't decide what I want to see happen.
A. Part of me wants Don to wreck house, retake his "Master of All He Surveys" status. Put all the haters in their place. Then the series ends with him jumping out a window.
B.1. Part of me wants to see Don live happily ever after
B.2. Part of me wants to see Don live happliy ever after, only to have the show close with him in a bar when some hot blonde walks in and sits down and he gives her the old Draper smile.
I'm excited to see Hamm finally win the Emmy he deserves, though.

I'm going to miss the show so much. This last half season will be onions. I really don't think that a show has ever been able to portray relationships and the development of them so authentically. All of these people feel real.
Matt Weiner is a genius.

I wouldn't have wanted her to be removed entirely from the story, but I don't think she is a major character that deserves her own storylines like Weiner has always believed. She should be on the level of a Ken Cosgrove or Harry Crane IMO. The Bobby's camp stuff was great though and her best moment since she divorced Don. However, there have been some pretty dragging stories with her. Her foray into the city where she dyed her hair color and the fat Betty stuff was pretty stupid particularly for a show of Mad Men's caliber with so many other rich characters to focus on. It turned a lot of people off to the series.

Yeah. I see what you are saying. I love Cosgrove. Wish he got more time honestly. Weiner probably has a huge crush on January Jones and writes more stuff for her as a result.

Every time she was on screen the song "Black Betty" came to mind. Whoa, Fat Betty, bam-a-lam.
