Does anyone else cringe every time one of our politicians uses this word? Honestly, it reminds me of the jingoistic nationalism gov'ts drum up to excuse war.

I cringed when the Patroit Act was passed and the department of homeland security was created.
I know you don't mean it this way but everythime I hear "defending the homeland" I think of Hitler. It makes me cringe, yes.
