In 5 years under Mullen, MSU has only finished 4-4 in the SEC 2x. The other 3 seasons were below .500
In 5 years under Mullen, MSU has only beaten ~10 FBS teams that finished the season which they played with a winning record. Overall, MSU is 39-28 under Mullen, which means 76% of his wins at MSU have been vs teams with a losing EOY record (or an FCS team); only 25% have been vs FBS teams finishing with a winning record.
Those teams?
Middle Tennessee State, 2009
Kentucky, 2009
Ole Miss, 2009
Florida, 2010
Michigan, 2010 (bowl)
Louisiana Tech, 2011
Middle Tennessee State, 2012
Ole Miss, 2013
Bowling Green, 2013
Rice, 2013 (bowl)
Murderer's row right there.
Finally, Mullen is 2-21 in his 5 years vs ranked teams: Ole Miss in 2009 and UF in 2010.
In fact, Mullen has an awesome streak of 0-15 vs ranked teams at the moment; 0-16 after Saturday night.

Amazing he still coaches there
What's amazing is the fanbase is scared of losing him to another program.

So you're saying he's due?

I come in peace only to make a simple statement. Under Mullen's tenure, of the losses he's incurred, what were the rankings of those opponents?
I know I've seen the stats before. I wouldn't be able to reproduce them, but I'm willing to bet 95% of his losses were to top 15 maybe even top 10 opponents

You should compare his SEC West record to that of Croom's. Pretty sure the only team he's beaten out of the West is Ole Miss and Auburn back in 2012 when they were terrible.

28 losses total. 21 to ranked teams = 75% of losses to ranked teams. You were closer than I thought.
ETA: I always got points off for not reading the instructions.
28 losses, 17 to top 15 ranked opponents = 60.714286% of losses to top 15 opponents.

Upvote for effort, but no...he wasn't that close at all. He said top FIFTEEN, not ranked.

2011 Auburn won the NC as well, and we lost on the goal line.
