Anyone else notice Netflix has upped their game lately?

No, they still don't have the newest, "best" summer blockbusters and award winners. But, lately, I've been happy with the movies they've been adding. Add in their original content and tons of great TV episodes and it's almost a must, now.

Recent movies: Silver Linings Playbook, Varsity Blues, Roman Holiday, D3: Might Ducks, Roger Rabbit, Swiss Family Robinson, Hercules (Disney; and they've had this for a while)

Upped their game? So, basically, they added old movies that you like?

People that bitch about netflix (redbox new releasers), would not consider this upping their game.

Unfortunately I don't really like any of those. I wish it had a better search feature on 360, seems like a lot just get repeated in the genre scroll.

Never really know what is new or existing in obscurity somewhere.

Yes. Is that bad? It's not like any new movies being released right now are wowing anyone. And I forgot to mention the access to documentaries, too. There are some really good ones.

They have a "New Releases" option on the AppleTV app. It shows recently added (new and old) and new releases (basically new movies that they are now just getting availability to)

It has gotten better, no doubt.

No. It just means, that they added some old movies that you have feelings of nostalgia for. Doesn't mean the lineup offerings have gotten significantly better (or worse). I wouldn't have been surprised if any of those movies were on Netflix. All right in their sweet spot, except for Silver Linings, but Netflix usually has a handful of recent movies that were good.

All that to say, they have always carried old good movies (Roman Holiday), cult classics (Roger Rabbit), bottom of the series barrel (D3), and solid family movies.

The only difference is, the recent additions appeal to you. But someone who does not like netflix, is not likely to be persuaded by that lineup you posted.

They don't need to up their game. When I look at how much I used to spend on monthly video rentals plus late fees, I feel like netflix is a steal.

I need to watch it. I know it gets bashed by the mental health groups, but I want to see it for myself.

It wasn't so bad. Was from his point of a view and not nearly as "chick flick". Much better than the movie, IMO.
