I have ethernet ports all over my apartment. I'd like to hook up multiple devices behind my tv entertainment center and there is only one port there. Is this the device I should get or should I get something else?

You need a switch

What are the wall ports tied to?

A router that belongs to you?

All the ports in the apt are live via a wireless router from Verizon Fios
