Thinking about replacing my Xfinity internet by using AT&T Mobile Hotspot

Has anyone done this?

Xfinity sucks the BBC and the bill is stupid for what I'm getting and how much time I'm actually spending on it (mostly weekends, and after 7pm Monday-Friday).

Have any of you successfully replaced your home WiFi with a "MiFi" type connection?

Thoughts?

Do NOT do this.

The mifi from AT&T is not intended for everyday use for home internet. They will tell you it is but it's not. The device gets overheated and is super slow. I replaced mine three times. It was so bad that we just paid the contract cancellation fee.

I recommend going with an actual home internet place. If you don't like xfinity, go with comcast or something else (fiber?).

Once again, don't do this. You will regret it if you do. I'm so glad I saw your post because it's such a terrible service.

I mean think about it - it's a phone company providing home internet, not going to turn out well (same with tv companies like DISH). But I've never tried DISH internet. Good luck.

I like my wifi hotspots (one for fun, the other for work).

I'd imagine using it for everyday internet would get insanely data intensive. Do you want much netflix?

Hot spots aren't meant for primary home Internet, but not for any of the reasons you've mentioned. The phone companies can provide you with great Internet speeds depending on where you live, it's data usage that is the real issue.

Sounds like you just had a manufacture defect with your mifi.

I went the mifi route for 2 months when I lived to London and ruined the charge on my phone. Try UVerse if it's offered in your area.
