wonder why that is?
everyone told me how great it was to bring awareness and that it was not a fad
everyone told me how great it was that donation skyrocketed, and i could not agree more
everyone told me how much "awareness" was raised
i hope it was not a flash in the pan trendy thing, AKA fad, but it sure does look that way

Weather plays a huge roll in people's donations.

Yea, the awareness was great, but it was definitely a fad.
Lot of people just used it to be about them. "Hey look at me, I'm doing it too!"

Couldn't last forever. it was extremely financially productive while it lasted so mission accomplished

You'll stop making fun of it when a cure is found thx to all that awareness

I don't know anybody with ALS, but I'm aware as hell about it now.
Thanks ice bucket challenge.

or...what will the ALS foundations do when people stop giving them money b/c they're giving everything to the next fad charity?
this was a short-term boom but a long-term problem
if we treat all charities like that fricking susan g kommen breast cancer bullshite, charity as we know it is doomed

You should get a big chocolate chip cookie and a bozo button for your coolness with this thread. Fcking cool dude. Coolest cool cat on the internet that Rouge guy is.
He was standing strong and being the voice of reason throughout the long and horrible ALS ice bucket challenge ordeal that scared people for life.

It was always a look at me promotion after Facebook took over, many did not care about the cause

They'll have to come up with a new fad or maybe donations will stay pretty high since ice buckets raised awareness. ALS was not a cause I thought of much before ice buckets. St Jude and breast cancer were the main ones in my mind.
