The Teen Titans Are Getting Another TV Show, This Time It’s Live Action

quote:

The Teen Titans have had a huge roster throughout the years so they’ve got a lot of characters to choose from. But if Johns’ tweet and the article are any indication, it looks like Batman’s protege Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing is definitely aboard for the ride.

“The television series would more closely resemble a popular 1980s comic called ‘New Titans.’ It featured a 20-something version of Robin who changed his moniker to Nightwing, as well as the new heroes Starfire, Raven and Cyborg,” writes WSJ.

I had no idea this was coming but I'm in if we're getting Nightwing. Sucks Cyborg won't be on the team though.

Oh I just assumed since he was cast for the JL films that they wouldn't have another on tv but they very well do the same thing with the Flash too.

All of these shows would be insanely awesome if they were connected. I know that would just be too much of one genre for a network, but missing out some great stuff.

They just mentioned Cyborg being part of the New Titans, which is what this possible show will more closely resemble. I don't think that necessarily means that Cyborg will definitely be on it.

If this is actually possible, I guess that means we won't be seeing Dick Grayson on Arrow. That kind of bums me out because I think Dick would fit in nicely on Arrow at some point down the road.

I wonder how much they will tone down Starfire's libido.

im going to go head and say this never happens. this seems like a wild shot in the dark.

also, at what point would there just be too many DC shows out at once?

at some point it will become incredibly confusing for the average Joe who doesn't know crap about comics.

its already a mild chore to help people keep straight who all is from DC vs Marvel.

This.

I'd be pumped. The world needs more Dick Grayson, but I thought he was already cast in Arrow? So there'd be two Nightwings? Two Cyborgs?

Nightwing hasn't been cast or announced in arrow yet. It's looking like he probably won't appear in that show. And the article hints that the show wouldn't be able to use cyborg.

It really feels like companies put stories out there to garner reactions. Even if they don't have true intentions to follow through with it. Lately something will come out, like the CW passed on Supergirl. Then two weeks later we learn it's not true. Lazy reporting.

Dick hasn't been cast yet for Arrow (at least not officially). Steven McQueen was campaigning pretty hard to be cast for it, but nothing official ever came of it.

But we don't even know if Nightwing or Cyborg will be part of the TT show since there are a lot of different members that have been part of TT over the years (although TT without Dick Grayson would feel like a swift kick to the nads IMO).

This. Although I'd be ok with that if it's the ONLY chance we get for Nightwing.

My beef with the "Not a Consistent universe" thing is just this reaction. I'd love Dick Grayson in an Arrow, Flash or this...but part of what makes Dick great is his growth, which goes back to his roots with Batman.

It isn't a small quibble for me, so don't let that get out of hand, but I understand it's pretty minor and others may not agree.

ill side step the sexual innuendo. but i think he is similar to Cyclops in this way. both characters have massive arcs and growth.

while cyclops isnt exactly "evil," he isnt exactly the good guy any more either. what would it take for Dick to go down this path? i honestly cant think of anything that could happen that already hasnt that would make him question things.

Why isn't he the good guy any more?

Follow up question.

You say he "isn't exactly evil". How is he even partly evil?

I'm sorry to derail but not really.
