Two decades after Al Bundy's last exhaustive sigh of disappointment, Sony Pictures Television is looking to resuscitate Married with Children, which ran for 11 seasons and made household names out of Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino.

THR is reporting that a spinoff series is currently in the works which would focus on Faustino's Bud Bundy character. As of right now, it's not known whether or not any other original cast members (who have remained busy on other TV and movie projects) will return for appearances on the series, but one would have to assume that it's a wish/possibility. And that those potential guest spots would be a big factor in the appeal of the show.

Details regarding who might be writing and directing the rebooted series are currently unknown. A few days ago, the cast reunited for a photo op during Katey Sagal's Walk of Fame star ceremony...

I thought he already did this on Crackle.

Is the Married with Children cast one of the most successful casts, after the show ended (except for ole bud)?

I mean, Ed is still killing it. Applegate has been on a ton of stuff, and the Segal has been on Futurama, 8 simple rules, and SoA.

Maybe the cast of The Office...

MWC is one of my all-time favorite shows.

Seems like a lot of people hate it, or at least do not appreciate it's humor.

Aside from the last few seasons, when the original writers had departed, this show was golden laugh factory- and I would say a trailblazer, along with sitcoms like Soap, that were full of pathetic, mean, mostly unsympathetic characters who loved to ruin each others' dreams for their own selfish pursuits, or for no reason at all- a lot like Arrested Development, Always Sunny, etc.

True story - my first visit to Chicago was downtown - for a deposition or something - and I was staring out the window of the conference room and I saw the fountain. At first, my brain was trying to process what my eyes were seeing - the water wasn't flowing. Then the expectation of the water triggered the theme song in my head.

I know, CSB.

In this day and age of over the top PC-ism, I cant imagine the level of crying some of the episodes of married with children would have caused.

Al was just brutal to fat women and gays.

This is my absolute most favorite TV show ever.. I watch every single day to this day. I absolutely love this show. Al Bundy to Steve to Jefferson. I mean it was such a perfect transition to a new love interest for Marcy as you can have.. and yet both guys were so different.

I agree though that Bud Bundy is by far my least favorite character on the show.. but I realize why it would be easiest to focus on him as a spin off.

Yup.. It's truly sad how sensitive the media and people are these days..

There was that one episode when Al became good pals with the Gay guy who's husband was out dancing with Peg..

Love MWC. I'm in if true. I love me some Sony Pictures. They kept Community going too.
