This is complete and utter bullshite.

Despite the South's so-called penchant for racism, I've never encountered anybody with any significant anti-Semitical views.

I don't know whether to attribute that for the evangelical penchant for Israel or due to the lack of Jews in general in the South.

I remember my grandfather bitching about 'dime-store Jews' but it was more about their business and involvement in the community than Jews in general.

Which is it, "at least partially" or "largely?"

Part of Hitler's argument against Jews blamed them for the economic plight of Germany at the time, but stating that class warfare has been a constant as a reason for the persecution of Jews is a bit of a stretch.

Hitler was not the first person in Europe to use the Jews as a scapegoat. Read The Merchant of Venice, by Shakespeare. Martin Luther wrote about "the Jewish question." Gentiles all over Europe disliked the Jews, because the Jews charged interest on loans, while the Church forbade doing so. Therefore when times were tough, it was easy to blame the guy collecting interest even though your business wasn't doing well.
