Anyone ever been selected to a Jury?

My first jury duty this week and its a murder trial, pretty interesting and a little stressful.

I think they told us about $18 or so, not sure why they even bother. Your work does have to pay you for 1 day though.

yup, and I was the foreperson too. The jury selection process was very interesting. The things people will say to get out of jury duty....

Everyone on the OT has been on a jury for a murder case, and we all found the bastard guilty and sentenced him to death by lethal injection and then life in prison after that.

Once. I was foreman on an armed robbery and assault trial. The prosecutors case was a joke. The trial lasted the better part of a day and they presented 0 evidence connecting the guy to the crime. In fact the guy they caught on the store's security camera was a huge muscular guy while the guy on trial had spaghetti arms and was not near as tall as the guy on camera either. On the other hand the defense showed solid evidence that this guy was at work while this crime took place.
Needless to say we were mostly shocked this trial even took place and returned a "not guilty" verdict immediately.

yeah, pretty funny seeing people try to get out of it, most common is foreign looking people claiming they dont speak english.
Most annoying thing was the few smokers, all they could talk about the whole time.
