An Everett teenager faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly "desecrating" a statue of Jesus outside a religious center in his hometown, an act that drew violent threats online.
In a report issued Tuesday, state police said the 14-year-old boy posted photographs of the desecration on the Internet. Photos on his Facebook page dating to July appear to show the boy standing over a statue of a kneeling Jesus, simulating a sex act.
Police said the act took place at Love In the Name of Christ, also called Love INC, a national Christian service and charity group with an Everett branch.

A trespassing charge would make sense. Since when is "desecration" a crime?

Typical of what?
If someone takes a piss on an MLK statue, will everyone just sit back and say nothing?

It is a peaceful religion. Now what a bunch of hypocrites who claim to follow said religion is a different story.

That kid needs to have his arse kicked.

The Altoona Mirror reports the boy is charged under a rarely used 1972 law that makes it a crime to desecrate a venerated object.
A college student was prosecuted under the same law when he urinated on a nativity scene in Wilkes-Barre in January 2010.
This kid is an idiot, but this law is some bullshite.

It is. Those making threats are clearly not following the teachings of the teachings of the one the teen was attempting to desecrate.
Many people identify themselves as Christian, with a wrong understanding of what that means. To many, it simply means that they are western, American, and believe that Jesus is the son of God that came to earth to redeem sinful people, without actually being redeemed themselves.
Those that following the teaching of Jesus know that he would never agree with threatening someone as some are doing in this case.

Whoa, whoa, whoa there....for once I come to the OT and see a fricked up story that doesn't involve black people and yet you try to drag us in.
