Are you mad because of the increased risk? Older women shouldn't even try?

51?

No decent fertility doctor would have agreed to that.

She must have gone to the same fertility doctor octomom went to.

He's likely mad that a doctor actually agreed to do IVF on her.

If she understands the risk for both her and her child, what is the problem?

Mad at people that have children for selfish reasons to the potential detriment of said children. Everyone has a right to a child these days. I just find something weird about single women going to a sperm bank like they are shopping for a car.

I just think intentionally raising a child in a single parent household is selfish and negligent (yes, kids raised in a single parent household can flourish, but so can kids born disabled. it doesn't mean you wish upon your child the disability despite their potential to overcome said disability).

And how fair is this to the kid? Self centered bitch worried about her feelings and needs. Toddler is going to want to play, Momma will break a hip. Time to go to college? Can't, have to stay home and care for invalid mom.

Kid is screwed. Mom is irresponsible. Mother Nature shuts the baby maker off at a point for this reason.

While I agree that it's selfish for a 51 year old to get pregnant via IVF, I don't think you understand 51. Hip breaking due to aging is still more than 30 to 35 years away. Plenty of grandmothers end up raising their grandchildren and do it well. 70 when the kid goes to college? Mom could still be in excellent health.

I am not defending this woman's choice. I'm just sayin.

It was just a joke. I'm sure at 51 she's still a virgin.

You see the little girl in the story? You think it would be better for her if she had never existed than it is for her to be born into a single parent household?
