looking to get some outdoor furniture for a covered area. Looking for something nicer than home depot/lowes , but, not breaking the bank either. Any suggestions? Anyone have any experience with costco's outdoor furniture?

I've got some costco stuff that I like. Can't really give you much on how long it will last since I've only had it for 6 months.

Fighting tiger, have you actually seen the outdoor furniture at Costco? It is better than Home Depot/lowes stuff. I'm sure you haven't, but, it's a lot cooler to act like you know better and laugh the statement off

Look at weight limits. Usually they list that and the one that seats 700# is a lot nice than the one that seats 400#.

North Cape international is the best quality brand for outdoor furniture. Sometimes Frontgate carries that brand, but I'd look at the NCI website to really scan through the different styles & fabrics.

Something you will learn is that outdoor furniture is one of those things that you will get what you pay for.

I laughed because I have tried home depot, lowes and a couple online places. Ohana being one. None were incredible, lasted 3-5 at most. Best bet was having furniture made local and buying cushions online.

The last bit of outdoor furniture I made myself to save a ton of money, maybe that is an option.

Bottomline, don't expect to find some hidden gem of outdoor furniture that will last a decade. They don't make it for cheap.

So your experience Ohana is crap also? Did you find anyone online that is worth a crap? I am not making the furniture myself, who could make furniture local to the new orleans area?

Any thoughts on Frontgate?

My teak benches have outlasted everything.

Frontgate is nice but you can order from Indonesia or importers and I think assemble yourself with just wood dowels. Search for that kind of good stuff.

anything better online to look at than front gate. i'm not going to build anything and don't want to build anything. Would like to order and have minimal assembly, but, still a good product.

Depends on what your opinion of crap is. Ohana uses a metal frame, but fake wicker. In south louisiana this usually lasts a few summers.

I would stay away from Eucalyptus, or lyptus, wood. It dries and cracks in just a year or less.

Locally I have no idea. Usually find ads for cypress furniture and such.
I found a retail design that I liked and had someone make it with a few adjustments. Final result.
