Does recruiting normally hit dead patches like this?

I'm relatively new to following recruiting, but it seems like a long time since we have gotten a commitment. Is this normal?

Yep, there's always that dead period shortly after NSD and then again after all the camps are done up until our conference schedule gets going

Yes, but we aren't in contention for the sheer number of elite prospects that we were in for last year, which makes the period feel even quieter this cycle.

Yes. It's one of the main reasons we do the mock draft early in the year. There are more recruits committing really early and really late, so the dead patches seem longer now than they used to be.

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes!
I kid, but yeah. Things usually pick up about the MSU game. If we're playing well and beat them band later Auburn, expect the floodgates to open

Yes. It recruiting-speak, this period is called "the high school players are focused on the start of school and the start of their high school seasons."

Yep, The prospects have a heck of a lot on their plates at this point and most of LSU's targets are going to wait until after their officials before committing anyway so just sit tight and enjoy the scuttlebutt.

Yeah - the high school kids are playing now - focusing on the early part of their season. There will be a few dribs and drabs, but for the most part, it will calm down until - give or take Thanksgiving, then slowly build through the All-Star game season, then another lull until around signing day.
