I love this Miles quote:

quote:

Overall, it was a solid home debut for the freshman, but Miles said you can’t evaluate the overall body of work without downgrading it somewhat because of Harris’ reckless late fumble.

“That’s like saying, 'Other than the terrible accident that he had, what do you think of how he played?'" Miles said. "I think he played pretty well considering that we’re going to tell him not to turn the ball over."

More of same with QB rotation

I think I finally figured it out...

You know when you're talking and you starting saying one word, then your brain immediately decides to switch to another similar word, so the original word comes out of your mouth all messed up?

I think Miles does that with full sentences... but then he's got like this 200+ IQ way of recovering and completing the thought from a completely different angle.

You walk away saying 'WTF did I just hear?' because nothing quite fit right together but given time and some reflection, it actually made sense.

I believe you're correct. Miles' thoughts are light-years ahead of his mouth. Sometimes he substitutes words, sometimes he drops phrases altogether.

This is how I envisioned his quote, if cleaned up:

quote:

“That’s like saying, 'Other than the terrible accident that he [caused], what do you think of how he played?'" Miles said. "I think he played pretty well considering [he fricked up some plays]. We’re going to tell him not to turn the ball over."

He has a way with a lot of words, and somehow, after reading, rereading, then hearing them, they make some form of sense...
