"Sure, there are assumptions he makes that are cringe-worthy—but the questions about how to attract more white fans were entirely reasonable."

Of course he's a businessman...

And after this charade, he's going to get $ paid ala Sterling.

Nice plan.

I had the same exactly 2 thoughts after I read the email.

Not sure if the league pressured him into selling, I'd hope not in this instance.

Levenson wonders whether (according to his observations) the emphasis on hip-hop and gospel music, the fact that the cheerleaders are black, the bars are filled with 90 percent blacks, kiss-cams focus on black fans, and timeout contestants are always black has an effect on keeping away white fans.

Levenson might have tripped over his dick in the way he asked it, but it's a legit question.

Why should any major sport be majority black, white, or anything?

I don't think levenson said anything too terrible, he was asking a legitimate business question as to the make up of his clientele.

Every reasonable person knows this isn't racist. Who exactly is calling it racist, and why are we praising Kareem for having common sense?

I'd love to find out what makes Kareem tick.

He grew up in the 1950's and 1960's. Maybe not the easiest thing in the world when you're black.

He converted to Islam. Maybe not the easiest thing in the world when you live in Milwaukee in the early 1970's.

He fought Bruce Lee. Maybe not the easiest thing in the world when you're allergic to the sun.

He did a Bud Light commercial. Maybe not the easiest thing in the 1990's when you are one of the most famous faces of Islam.

You've gotta admit that he has had a very unique set of circumstances in his life, and they all have probably been quite challenging. I'm sure this adds perspective to his point of view, and while sometimes he can say something that makes my blood boil, I find his to be one of the most interesting voices in America today.

He butted heads with a lot of coaches and players because of his cerebral nature. He went to a Catholic HS in NYC and was considered a good student.

I haven't seen anybody going crazy on Levenson. Seems like everybody gets he's using this as an excuse to sell.

I see where Levenson is coming from, but I can also see why it can be misconstrued.

He is just another guy whos greedy for more money. Something he has to realize, the NBA is majority black, no big surprise that black people will make up a large part of your fanbase. Also he has to look at his market demographics. He is in Atlanta, where there is a large percentage of black people present.

But if he wants to increase season ticket sales, he first needs to worry about winning. Not about who shows up on the kiss cam

You never know where Kareem's head is on these things, sometimes he's out there, sometimes he's on point.

Sort of true. Mostly not in the context of the email and the issue at hand.

It's simple. He's from an educated family that taught him the value of an education. Kareem has always been an intellectual.

opinions aside, KAJ's opinion on anything other than what happens on a court is garbage.
