Just curious as to why so many of you use first person plural pronouns when referring to the Saints.

This argument always bothers me. We is clearly used to establish that you are a fan of a team. When you say they, it sounds like you are distancing yourself from the team.

Not meant to make an argument. Just curious. Perhaps someone here has legitimate ties to the organization other than being a fan? Maybe a former employee or family member of a player or coach?
I personally don't like some of Benson's business practices so I would rather distance myself from the team.
Most of the responses to my query have been entertaining. The glaring exception being the reply by Fox Mulder. I assume he was trying to be witty, but he failed abysmally.
