Looks like IE or Firefox just became your new default browser.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

start menu, type "cmd"

ipconfig /flushdns followed by ipconfig /registerdns

clear your cache for chrome

make sure that it's not set to use a proxy server, some malware will trigger that.

though if your internet connection was set to use a proxy i don't think it would work in IE or firefox either.

but just check to make sure

start menu, type out "internet options"
click on the connections tab, click LAN settings at the bottom and make sure the checkbox that says "use a proxy server for your LAN" isn't checked

I've seen the proxy set in Firefox, but not on IE before.
