I have a amergas tank that says net weight 15 lbs on the tag. I weighed it and it weighed 30 lbs. should I assume that it is half full. Cooking a small pastalaya for the game and I am too lazy to go back out and fill this bottle

I believe a full tank has about 20 lbs of propane. So you would have 75% left, if you have a standard 5 gallon tank

Empty tank weigh 17-18 lbs
Full tank should weigh 37-38 lbs
You have around 12-13 lbs of propane.

Look for TW stamped around the neck. The number that comes after this is how much the tank weighs empty. A standard BBQ propane tank that you can get at a gas station has around 20 pounds of product in it. So add the tare weight plus 20 to get the weight of a full tank
