I know that fairly recently the little miniature bottles of liquor were made legal in La., or at least slightly larger ones. I feel like I've seen them somewhere, but I can't recall where. Where's a good place to pick some up tonight? Anywhere around Mid-City, Downtown, Southdowns, Hundred Oaks, etc. is cool.

Thanks.

I saw some little mini bottles on the counter in the liquor dept of Albertson's on Perkins/Essen, but it seems like any liquor store would have them. Maybe try Bin-Q (Cuban Liquor)?

Yeah that makes sense, I just didn't feel like fricking with Perkins traffic if I didn't have to. I'll hit the Albertsons on gov't. Thanks

I think they keep the hard liquor in the front at customer service at the Government St. Albertson's. If they don't have them there, try Calandro's as it has a pretty good liquor section.

I didn't see any at the Albertsons, must not have been looking in the right place.

When I looked(about a week ago), they were in liquor section and up front behind customer service/tobacco desk (may all be there now?)

Why'd they change the name? Copyright laws?

That's what I thought when I first saw the sign, but it's Bin Q according to thier Facebook page. From back in April:

quote:

It's official. Cuban Liquor is now Bin Q... "Been...Cu... Cu...Bin...Cuban.." see... we haven't changed much.

It's obviously a play on Cuban Liquor (especially since their logo & sign highlight the Q with a little Bin thrown in there). Supposedly they had to to change their name because of a prior trademark by another Cuban Liquor--I think someone said it's in Shreveport?

They should go back to the original name that was on the blinking neon sign: Ricca, as in "Ricca for Liquor".

The 100 ml (3.4 oz) bottles are about twice the size of airplane bottles. The new law that allowed them was the first change in bottle size limits since Prohibition ended, according to a WWL article.

Why the hell we ever have such stupid laws is beyond me. The gov needs to let producers and consumers decide what sizes are best. Free enterprise works.

There is a Cuban Liquor store in Shreveport.
