Would a 3 in lift kit add that much wear and tear on a truck over time?

Is 3 inches moderate enough (twss) so where it won't do that much harm to your truck's performance etc down the road?

eta: I pull a camper w/ my truck, usually not very far.

I would not do it unless I need it for work or going to camp.

Burns more gas
Higher center of gravity
Cost more for tires

Depends if full blown lift with new control arms assuming independent front suspension of just a spacer lift. If just a spacer it will put more stress on the ball joints. You will probably get a few years before things start to wear out.

On your F250? It won't have any negative effects of you take care of the track bar/drag link angles. Everything else will be peachy keen

Yep straight axle with the steering angle drop brackets should be good to go.

depends on type of vehicle and quality of lft kit. IFS truck - definately accelerates wear of suspension parts. Solid axle, not as much of an isue.

because Toyotas are terribly ugly without lifting the front, I did it to my 2011. Never again, CAN NOT fix the camber. Fourth set of tires due at 120000 miles. Proud owner of a new rack and pinion as well...for 2k. Never, ever will I put a leveling kit on.

I put a 3" leveling kit on my Tacoma. I havent had any problems thus far (3 years) and have 50k miles on toyo a/t's with 40% tread left.
What it did do was allow me to over turn and rub my tires on the inside fender

the engineers of the trucking companies make a shite ton of money on designing correct gear ratios, weights of wheels/tires, etc......

I don't see why anyone would alter any of this and take a chance.

I want a lil 1" lift w/ spacers on my Runner so I can put slightly bigger tires on it w/o rubbing

three inches shouldnt hurt anything, maybe a decrease in gas mileage with the larger tires. Your front end (tie rods, ball joints, etc) should be fine unless you drive 70 over speed bumps because your dick grew so much from having such an awesome vehicle.

Depends a lot on the truck.

If it has IFS, you need to get a diff drop and it's a pretty major job for not much gain and yes you will tear shite up. Don't get a diff drop and you'll REALLY tear shite up.

If it has a straight axle, it won't hurt anything.

I wouldn't do it if I was you either way. I had a lifted truck for a daily driver. frick that.
