My buddy claims he's found a spot to duck hunt in SELA that's not a NWR or WMA but can be hunted publicly.

Don't have a clue where it's at but in the OB's opinion is that even possible? I was under the assumption that if not a NWR or WMA chances are it is private and/or not open to the public for hunting.

Only way that is possible is if it is state land...

But just because its state land doesn't mean it's legal to hunt, correct?

Most state land is huntable unless listed as restricted...

Call the LDWF and ask them.

I asked about land over the levee once, cause I heard that was huntable b/c state owned. Apparently, I would've been arrested had I hunted it.

State land is or was marked as state land with signs. There is a lot of this in the Basin. The problem is people remove the signs to reduce people being on the land...

They do not oversee state lands that are not WMAs...

So, you are saying, that if I find this land and hunt it, I should be good?

It is one thing if you can read between the lines, something else to lay it out there. From experience I am telling you, it is a bad idea...

If I'm catching what you're throwing out there, you're saying that they state owned lands aren't worth the effort/danger because of surrounding land owners?

That could also be a problem, I am saying posting up the info for every lurker to read is a bigger problem...
