A lot of good players, and not enough money to spread around.

Next year?

Don't worry. They will have to pay Wilson at some point, and you better believe it'll be 20+/yr.

Took a small hit from last year. DL lost two significant players both to Tampa I think. Sherman, Thomas and Lynch locked up. I think Harvin as well. Depth is a big factor and they have no bad contracts. Injuries will play a huge factor for them. Look at SF with their injuries and suspensions. Sucks because I hate Carroll who even cheats in the NFL

Probably next year. If Wilson keeps upping his play, he will make serious money. With their most recent extensions, plus his, a significant roster shake up is coming. Unfortunately, teams still have to play them this year.

Kam chancellor, who I believe is the best SS in the league, is locked up long term as well. It's scary how good they are right now, but we're going to find out if Wilson is as good as the media believes once he commands and gets that 20+MM contract next year.

There's plenty of ways to manage a cap. YOu have to just start beating their talent. Seattle is doing great in the drafts, they will always be very good if they keep drafting well and coaching players up.

This. He isn't asked to win games or carry the team. Once they start having to fork out money for everyone, and they lose a lot on defense, Wilson will be forced to start actually carrying part of the load.

$20 million for Wilson is entirely too much, but I hope they pay him, as it will screw them on the rest of the roster.

I disagree. If they get away with just $20 million on a long term contract, it is a steal.

If they continue to draft and develop well, it's always going to be next man up.

Lots of wishful thinking and sour grapes here about them and their future.

Meh, the NFL is cyclical. They'll be good for another 2 years then they'll have a down year or two. Pete Carroll is already in his 60s so I don't know how long he'll keep doing this.

Not everyone gets to play in the AFC East and keep up dominance for a decade.

might have to seriously consider letting wilson walk when he asks for 20+

That team can win with someone other than him.

For the entire length of the contract yes, but I thought people were insinuating $20 mil per year, not 20 million total.

Sounds crazy, but with the way everyone touts him, I can see Seattle doing something stupid like that.

That is my thought as well. They win with their defense and running game. No reason to pay someone elite money if they aren't one of the top two reasons you are winning.

they got hit hard this year.

They lost Golden Tate and Brent Giacomino on offense and Chris Clemons, Red Bryant, and Clinton McDonald on defense.

And they are still great. They have drafted well and have a system.

When Wilson gets +20 mill plus a year it will hurt a bit and they will lose some players. They will have to continue to draft well and bring in UDFAs to fill in the gaps for depth.

The NFL is cyclical and they won't be this good forever, but they are certainly going to be good for at least the next 2 years.

Correct. Wilson is going to be the guy that puts the squeeze on.

Too risky to let him walk. He is a top 10 QB.
