Oh well, more buckets for Simmons.

we are a tougher sell than louisville until we start putting the product on the court year in and year out. martin, mickey, robertson and then simmons are the start of something great for our program. They will lead to bigger things, but we need to win more on the court.
Louisville and Pitino have a national title, championship pedigree, and lots of money and facilities there. We have nicer facilities but i don't think they are on the level of LU yet. We're getting there though. Takes time to build the program back up.

Just sucks to build so much momentum then start striking out on everyone. I really hope we dont miss out on Thomas and Sampson too...not that the class would disastrous without them,. but we just wouldn't be giving the pieces for Ben Simmons to take a team deep into the tournament IMO. With solid first year contributors like Blakeney, Thomas and Sampson it gives him a lot of help vs. getting "program players" who will take a few years to develop and never really play with Simmons.
Simmons is that key dominant player you want on a team to take you deep in the tournament but he has to have some legitimate help to do so.

I guess this is what happens when non-basketball schools go against basketball powerhouses most of the time. We're obviously going to need more than Ben to attract top talent here. We do well this year and make the tournament and guys will start to take a little bit of a harder look at us. Just got to hope we can land Brandon and Elijah. We get those two and this class is still one of the best in LSU history. Then we can add a couple guys in the late signing period.

Bob Barker, i don't know how long you have been an LSU hoops fan, but great recruiting classes were business as usual for the tigers from the late 70's to mid 90's. I think we are currently resuming that with a coaching staff that actually gets out and hustles for these guys.

Unfortunate. I think maybe Johnny should have scheduled his visit for this weekend with big Eli instead of the 19th. That way he would have been discussing his itinerary instead of contemplating a commitment to Louisville. Oh well. Time for the coaches to put the press on Sampson and maybe look to get Malik in for a visit. His recruitment isn't over yet, if I'm not mistaken.
