Meanwhile, the Tea Party of Louisiana on Wednesday announced it is endorsing Whitney for the seat.

So this settles it, right? The mighty Tea Party of LA has spoken, and Mrs. Whitney is the true conservative in the race. All conservative Republicans in Louisiana on board?

That's a big get for a candidate whom I've heard nothing about and only seen on a few signs (which are really working well at getting her name recognition). I would like to learn more about her as I'm really not sold on any of the candidates in that race. I was thinking of just voting for the Libertarian in the primary and not Edwin Edwards in the run-off.

She is socially and fiscally very conservative and references God several times in her position on issues page. She believes the notion of man made climate change is "greatest deception in the history of mankind" and recently fled an interview with the Washington Post when pressed for evidence in her belief that the earth is getting colder. She is like a Sarah Palin of the south only not as savvy or ready for prime time imo.

I just can't take her seriously, though. I think her campaign signs look like something from the movie Legally Blonde.
