He has been at it since 2005.

Duke has won one national championship since (2010). Other than that season, they have failed to reach another Final Four in 10 years.

No. No more than it hurt Calipari coaching the Dominican Republic in 2011 and 2012.

No. It gives him a ton of exposure and a humongous advantage in recruiting.

No it has helped him. He has 9 McAA's on the roster this season and his recruiting has actually picked up a ton in recent years.

No, the 1 and done rule has hurt him at a academic school like Duke. Most talented guys can't get into Duke, and when they leave after 1 year, it leaves a sting. Kyrie Irving and Jabari Parker come to mind.

I have no doubt that recruiting is fine. But Coach K relies on guys executing his system. Has he put in the time in recent years?

Yet somehow they've managed for the last 35 years.

Wait.

You're suggesting he hasn't put in time to coach guys in his system in the last decade?

And yet he will likely have the most 1 and done's in the country this year

No. I actually think he probably juggled it quite well until 2010, but now he is just coasting. Duke hasn't really looked like Duke in quite some time in my opinion.

He has the exact same amount of time to dedicate to coaching his team as anyone else. NCAA rules and all. It's not like they could be practicing right now.

Those are like the only one and dones he has had lately as far as I know. The only other that I can remember was Deng.

Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree. They went to the Elite Eight in 2013, 2010, and 2004 in the last decade. He had an incredible squad in the 90s that would've been hard to top. I don't think he's any less of a coach. He's just not the only coach.

Trust me, if a dude's good enough, they'll find a way to get him into school. These athletes aren't quite held to the same standard as other students.

This is true. Coach K and Duke win championships with veteran leaders, like Jewish Jordan, Battier, and Laettner.

with respect to the great Jon Scheyer, there's only 1 of these, and he didn't go to Duke.

are you that dude that was Scheyer's biggest fan on the msb?

I don't think so, but I could probably displace him. I was never even embarrassed by the Scheyer faces.
