Can't wait for Sunday.

quote:

In '91, the teams met in New Orleans in the wild-card round -- their only postseason meeting. The score was tied at 20 with less than three minutes left when Falcons QB Chris Miller threw a short pass in the right flat to Michael Haynes. Haynes, who grew up in New Orleans, dodged the cornerback and outran another defender for a 61-yard TD.

frick this game, solidified my absolute hatred for the bastards when I was a kid that will be there till I die.

13-3

1 SB vs. 0 SBs

Watching them go 4-11 last year, it seems like the players and fans have given up on trying to out saint the saints for now...ain't no fun without false hopes

Some of us old-timers remember the Big Ben loss to the Falcons at home in 1978.

I still can't believe we blew that game.

Hard to call such a one sided matchup a rivalry.

In order to be a rivalry doesn't the other team have to win sometimes?

Saints Falcons playoffs game would be nuts. I was only 3 when they played in the playoffs. I'd love to see the Saints end the Falcons season.

pretty sure the Falcons own the all-time head2head record vs. the Saints. They also beat the Saints in their only postseason match-up. They also beat y'all in the most lopsided game in the series, 62-7. They also own the longest win streak, at 10 straight.

"He has had a lot of years to study both cities and both sets of fans. Saints fans are more loyal, he says -- they come to every game, just like they did when the Saints were the Aints and fans wore bags on their heads. If the Falcons are bad, Andersen says, the fans don't show up."
