Can any people tell me more about the area? My brother and his family just signed a lease in an apartment in Covintgton. Wife's job needed her to more to Louisiana. They have a 2 1/2 year old daughter as well and would be in need of child care as well. I don't really know much about this part of Louisiana and my brother and wife know even less.

Does your current wife know about the secret family you are hiding in Covington?

That's not true. There's a pretty miserable pocket of culture in Covington

Covington GA is terrible so I'm guessing a town by the same name in Louisiana would be 2x to 3x worse.

Nicest area in the state. As mentioned before, little culture.

ETA: I am referring to the Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville triangle.

I'm trying to tell you, there's blacks in Covington. So don't worry, you have some culture.

The ratio is all wrong. And you can go for blocks in one direction and not run into culture.

Just sayin.

Cov is one of the more middle America, mom and apple pie areas on the northshore. Not as snobby as Mandeville but people can be a little more rough around the edges. The downtown area is just wonderful. A kind of bohemian feel to it as well.

Not enough unique eateries in that area.

It used to be nice, quaint and lakeside. Now it's little Kenner.

I think downtown Covington has more to offer than the average Southern suburb.

Maybe a little version of what Kenner used to be.

Oh yeah I see. It is troubling to be further than four blocks away from it

At what point in time was Covington "lakeside"?
